No need to book in advance...I just came from Guatemala, and in Flores we payd 27usd per room for 3 people (can't recall the name of the hotel). There are plenty hotels which are not listed and Flores is very small, which makes it easy to shop around..

The cheapest hotels are often not online. Just get a room when you get to town.

My experience is the same as greggo's. There are plenty of places in Flores where you can get a comfortable private room for under $20.

I've also stayed in the dorm at Frida's Hostal (the Santa Ana "inland" location) twice and been pretty satisfied with it. Beds there were about $10/night if memory serves.

Not sure if your interested but you can get a tent with all the bedding for about 15us at the Jaguar Inn, it's nice to stay in the park.

That sounds interesting....is there anywhere to store a pack while there though?
I'm arriving around 7:30pm into airport so would probably try and stay in Flores first night.

If your asking about the tent, I'm sure you can store your pack at the Inn/motel, it's a secure area, they also have a bar and decent/good restaurant. It's all on the same grounds, very cool place.
Actually I believe you can even reserve one on-line at there web.......

Any place that you store your things make sure they are well locked up. Look for slashes when you pick it up as lots of places like to review your things while you are away. This includes top of chicken buses. Have trip insurance also as you just never know.,
