I left steamy hot Flores at nine o clock in the evening for a short taxi ride to Sant Elena and the bus terminal. The Fuentes Maya del Oro Luxury bus departed Sant Elena at nine twenty. This is a very cold night journey do have at least sweater handy. If you are tall the seats are too small for a comfortable sleep. The bus arrived in Guatemala City at six thirty in the morning. The connecting shuttle bus driver took care of my backpack and we were off to Antigua in just a few minutes. I spent about twenty seconds in Guatemala City. In my point of view the city looked nice and tidy and not as bad as it can be in third world cities. After one hour drive through a wonderful volcano landscape it was time to enter Antigua. I stayed at Casa Cristina.

This was a wonderful hotel for twenty eight US Dollar very well worth the money spent. It was a fantastic view from the roof of the hotel. The location was near the cathedral and all interesting sites within walking distance. Antigua had many nice restaurants my favorite one was just a few meters from El Acro.
