I've been looking at flights for this trip and have found nothing under $600. Any suggestions from anyone who has done it? Certain airlines? Anybody done it via Panama? I've heard that boats from Panama are cheaper?
Any info helps, thanks.
Hey, I'm heading to Costa Rica for three weeks at the end of August, beginning of September. Can anybody recommend some good places for snorkelling or scuba diving? Is the snorkelling any good there? What kind of things should we hope to see? I've been looking for websites about it but haven't found much useful information yet.
Thanks for the help!

Is there a flight from Toronto to San Jose via Cuba?? If so, which airline/s?? I'll be in Holguin for a wedding then planning on continuing to San Jose for a few months.
Should I get a flight to Cuba and then a seperate one to San Jose once I'm in Cuba??
I'm planning on leaving Toronto the 3rd week of Oct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How feasible would it be to raft from SJ to Cahuita on the Pacuare river with two kids aged 5 and 9? Would it be too dangerous, strenuous for them?
thanks
I broke my glasses and need to get a replacement. Does anyone know where I could do this in or near San Jose? I have a copy of my prescription, but its a bit old.
Muchas Gracias!!!
I'm taking a girl on a trip to Costa Rica for the holidays this year and I want to surprise her with something really special. She comes from a large family and since her birthday is Christmas Day it often gets overlooked. Neither of us have been there before and I have no idea what, if anything, will be open on Christmas. Our rough planning so far has been pretty budget conscious, but I've been saving for this trip and can afford to splurge a bit on her birthday. If anyone knows of a nice hotel…
A friend and I are planning on hiking Chirripo in August and have a couple of questions. Several sources suggest avoiding the hike during the rainy season, but this seems a bit alarmist and we’re still interesting in doing unless someone flat out warns us against it. The other question is, do we need to bring sleeping bags to sleep in the refugio at the summit or is there a lodge we can stay in. Lastly, we’re planning on starting early Saturday morning and coming down Sunday and leaving on…
Thanks for your input. We have decided to fly into Puerto Jimenez, and stay in Cabo Matapala. Anyone have a good midrange accomodation recomendation? I see that it takes about 2 hours to get to Corcovado park, so my choices are to hike for 1 day or 2 and stay at the ranger station dorm? Do you think day hikes near cabo matapala will be as rewarding? My other question is if we should go on to pavones and fly out of Golfito. My husband surfs, but the jungle experience is the first priority…
I will be renting a vehicle for a week. Do I need any sort of "International Driver's License" or special paperwork to drive a rental car in CR? Will a U.S. CA Driver's license work?
