Hey, I'm heading to Costa Rica in a few weeks and was wondering which cloud forest reserve I should head to. Monteverde or Santa Elena? We're interested in photography and would like to know which one we should visit if we only have 1 free day.
Also wondering which volcano you'd recommend if we have to choose between Poas or Irazu? I'd like to visit both if I have the time.
Thanks so much for the help!!

Dear all,
I am a student from Moscow, 21 years of age and an adventurous attitude to travel. Will be arriving in Liberia direct on 11th September for 14 days. I have looked all over this forum and others, the whole www in fact and cannot find the answer to my rather random dilemma. I appreciate this is quite crazy, but having looked into it and travelled all around Cuba for a week this way I really think this is a great option.
I live in London and drove a 125cc Vespa every day (until I lost my…
Hi,
In late August/early Sept, I will be in San Jose on business. My wife and our 1 yr old son are flying down from Guatemala (where we live) for the weekend. I probably won't be free until Saturday morning, Sept 1, and we fly back Monday afternoon, Sept 3.
So, essentially, we have 2 days. I'm looking for suggestions for these 2 days; we are thinking nice beach to relax. Although we love the mountains, for 2 days and with 1 yr. old, I think the beach is the best bet. We're looking for…
We (two couples) will be going to CR in March, 2008. It's our first time there. We will only be there for a week. If we flew into Liberia, what would be the best way to get to Montezuma?
We would like to stay on the beach, do some snorkeling and a canopy tour(no zip-lines) through rain forest. We need some advice on a safe and clean place to stay. Also, if we stayed at Samara, could we get to Montezuma and back in a day? Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
Hi there. Thanks for all of your help already. I'm going to be staying in La Fortuna for two days. One day, I'm planning on hiking around Arenal, and to the waterfall. I also am really interested in doing the Cerro Chato trail - it seems like a serious hike, but my friend and I are very fit, so it shouldn't be a problem. I've been having a hard time, however, finding out whether one can do the hike without guides, and if that is safe.
I read that you can start the hike from the Arenal…
If I have a 4x4 and leave Corcovado can I make it to Cahuita in one day?
If not, where should I stay that I can make it to in a day?
Finally if I am already spending time at Dominical and getting a lot of beach time in do you have other reccommendations for where I should visit on the Caribe Coast? This is for Jan. I have 3 nights to stay somewhere.
Thanks!
Thanks again to everyone for all the useful and helpful input and info out here! I know this has been addressed, but wanted a little more feedback for this specific issue.
After looking at Arenal.net the 4 places with curent lava views are Arenal Obs Lodge/Lost Iguana/Arenal Lodge/Linda Vista
I know this time of year we may not even get to see the lava with cloud cover.
There are many confliciting reviews on Trip Advisor, differing from some of the input seen here.

Hello,
We are having our wedding in Costa Rica. The ceremony will be in the flamingo beach area and I am looking for some suggestions on restaurants for the rehearsal dinner. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much
