Reading through the posts I saw something about a boat from around JACO to Pt Jimenez - i have the cities wrong, but thats the general idea. What is the website or info about this? Ie times, locations, etc..

Also, is Tamarindo/Samara area rainy in Aug, or the standard 1-2 hours of rain in the afternoon?

Thanks,

nope-there is a boat service Jaco to Montezuma maybe thats what u saw.
The way to get to the Osa is to fly.
Unless you have unlimited time and then you can take the 10 hour bus trip over the mountains on the highway of death.

but to the Peninsula the Osa there is a boat service from Golfito to pto Jimenez

you can go to golfito from san jose, we took the bus to pto jimenez (about 8 hours partially on a rocky bumpy road, from the Panama border this is), with the boat its 1 hour + bussing, a lot faster.

No service between Jaco and Pt Jimenez

Fly in out from San Jose, or from Quepos to Palmur Sur, taxi to Sierrpe, boat to Drake Bay, hike to Cocovado
