I am a female traveling alone to Costa Rica to relax and volunteer. I will be flying in to San Jose on February 28th and I'm arriving in the afternoon. I'm a little confused on how to plan the itinerary, when there's so much to do and amazing things to see. I would love to do a surfcamp, since I'm a beginner. I'm gonna celebrate my birthday on the 22nd of March and I'm gonna volunteer for the whole month of April in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. I'm planning on using public transportation, since I will be backpacking. And I have the problem that it's Easter, and there's no transportation at the end of March.
I was thinking on going straight to La fortuna / Monteverde, go to Tamarindo learn surf, then come along down the coast until Manuel Antonio, then go to Puerto Viejo to volunteer, up to Tortugeuro, go back to the Pacific coast to see the rest I left behind and finish with a few days in San Jose. It sounds a lot of up and down, back and fowards, therefore why I'm so confused. I will appreciate any ideas and suggestions on where to go and what to do, specially which side to start and end.
Thanks so much.
