Arriving in December 15th for three weeks. Curious about "main" road conditions following Otto. We have a rental car booked...mostly staying on the main highways...with the exception of road to Monteverde and La Pavona on way to Tortuguero. Anything we should know about??

Thanks!!

Ask your lodging, and when you arrive the rental car agency.

The main issues were up near the Nica border in the Los Chiles/Upala areas from what I gather.

Monteverde is a slow bumpy rutted road the last hour, so never good. I would skip Monteverde personally, overrated, touristy and out of the way, you will see much more animals and wildlife in Tortuguero, or Cano negro...
