Thank you! I mean I'm not allergic to rain but I spoke to so many people who told me October is beautiful there so I actually booked my ticket one week earlier in advance. Norway will start to get pretty cold by then anyway so its honestly no trouble to be in paradise with a few rain showers :P

I'll have a look at the hostel and the website :)

Norway will get pretty cold and soggy too, at least it will be hot while it rains in PV :P

Yes, It will be a warm rain so bring clothes that dry out fast. That website is very good but is also used to attract tourists during the low season when some places are empty or even closed. Of course the weather can do anything it wants to but after years of traveling the Caribbean Coast from the Yucatan, through Belize and Guatemala and Honduras, I can tell you that October is known as the hot, humid, low tourist month. Thankfully Costa Rica does not tend to be affected by hurricanes like Belize is at that time of year. Have a nice trip!

Sonia, Feb is traditionally a rainy month on the caribe too....in fact, the caribe is its own micro climate. Its always green year round as it gets rainy almost every part of the year, regardless of rest of country. But it varies greatly for rainfall by year, and even where on coast, it can be wet and rain in Tortuguero and and sunny and nice in Cahuita and then rain agin in Manzanillo....

Its will be hot and humid at the beaches...no worries there.

That's the right attitude!
What are your interests for this trip and how long do you have?
Don't forget about Tortuguero, amazing jungle canal area, no cars.
Cahuita is a very small laid back town with an outstanding NP walking distance from town, lots of wildlife.

Mainly to volunteer at Costa Rica animal rescue center, but I'll be going to PV first to relax before I go there, and then I'll try and see as much of CR as possible before heading up to Nicaragua towards Mexico as the final destination. I'll probably go back to Norway in may/june 2017. That's the plan for now anyway :)

I want to hike and do as much nature stuff as possible while there so that sounds perfect, thanks for the tip!

Read up on the issue of flying into Costa Rica on a OneWay, as the airline is happy to sell it to you, but you will need proof of Leaving the country within 90 days of arrival, before you check in for the flight to CR...the "Onward Travel" requirements varies by airline, passport and border.

The proof needs to show you are leaving Costa Rica, not another country.
