Is it possible to travel by public bus from Samara to Manuel Antonio in one day? I can't find any direct bus schedules - will I have to travel via San Jose or are there bus connections somewhere else?

There is nothing direct. Its would be 4 buses, that would take all day...Driving in a car alone would take 4.5 -5 hours.

If possible- Samara to Nicoya>Puntarenas>Jaco>Quepos.

Otherwise, Samara>Nicoya>Paquera>ferry to Puntarenas>Jaco>Quepos

Or the old way Samara>Nicoya>Liberia>Puntarenas>Quepos.

Manual Antonio is not worth the effort, its very small park, very crowded, kids screaming everywhere, and its very developed, more a Honeymoon/Family place for weekenders from San Jose or bus tour types...

mrmoto, thanks for your response but this doesn't answer my question: is it at all possible to get from Samara to Manuel Antonio (or Quepos) in one day. I realize it will take all day, but do the different buslines connect, where would I change buses (is there a website for this?) or are there other ways such a boats, shuttles etc. I know there's a water taxi from Montezuma to Jaco but how would I even get to Montezuma?
