Hi everyone
I am going to Costa Rica in September and before going trekking I will be staying in San Jose for two nights. Do you have some suggestions - price level 50 - 100 US per night.
Thank you :-)
Tina

Hey Tina,
Do you really want to stay in San Jose? True it is a big city but not the most safe...really! You could think of going to Alajuela or even to Grecia which is only 35 min from the airport and there are buses going into San Jose everyday at least every hour if not more. Grecia is a small town and was voted the cleanest city in Latin America. The people are really friendly and the central park is really quanit and a great place to meet alot of people. There is a B&B 1.5 blocks from the park...check out the website B&B Grecia. They also offer airport pick up and drop off services.
Pura Vida!
Depending what you want to do in San Jose, Grecia is a very nice town quiet, clean its a nice place to be if you want to do souvenir shopping in Sarchi or just be secluded a few days. San Jose is great for night life, visit to museums or just for day tours rafting, volcano, etc. almost all accommodation outfits will organize it for you, Hotel around 50 to 100 dollars you can find them with reviews on tripadvisor.com. Grano de Oro is very well quoted. Enjoy.

Hi, is better to stay the first two nigths in Alajuela because is close to the airport and is the road the be best beaches in Costa Rica and you can find B and B good and with a low prices

tropical B&B must be a horrible place and business must be in the toilet. Jardine is really spending a lot of time on line getting her name on the threads today. more than a fourth of her total posts have been today.
you might get less hassle from the regulars if you would take your b&b website off of your quote area. That really is a violation of the terms of service. But then.....you have no other reason to spend any time here other than promote your b&b. geeez what was i thinking?

don,t know about all of them but dunn inn works for me. nice room ac air tv minni bar in room cozy little bar and resturant with good food at a reasonable price. well under 50 a night. also very safe and friendly staff bario amon san jose. always take a taxie at night if going out. don

forgot to add the doorman is dressed in a suit and tie but underneath he packs a gun, small casino across the street. i f you want to walk over there tell the doorman he will keep an eye out for you. don

Consider the Pine Tree Inn in Escazu, and first ring suburb of San Jose. The price is on the lower end of your budget. The hotel is close to Scotiabank (English speaking staff), many restaurants, theaters, and nightlife. Taxis or buses to San Jose are 2 blocks away. Enjoy
