Don't forget, Cahuita has an awesome NP.

From Puerto Viejo a fun cheap day is rent a bicycle and ride to Manzanillo and back, have lunch and a few beers.

Don't forget abut the Pacuare River trip, they'll pick you up or drop you off back in Alajuela, great fun and really beautiful. It will save transport costs to-from the Caribe.

Never did say what your volunteering for???????

So do you think I should stay 2 nights in Cahuita and 2 in Puerto Viejo? or just pick one?

About the Pacuare river trip-do you mean they will pick me up from eg. Puerto viejo and then drop me in San Jose for my last night lets say? Which company is this exactly so i can research it online.

Yes Im volunteering in a turtle rescue reserve.

Why don't you wait until you get there and see what you like? You have just a little time and it will go by fast so you may not want to be moving around that much.

Yes.

Can't really help with a rafting recommendation, I don't remember names of anything. Here's one of several http://exploradoresoutdoors.com/pacuare-rafting.html

It's a very competitive business so I guess they all do the same but do confirm.

Cahuita is a small laid back town. Puerto Viejo is larger with more going on.
Agree with greggo, check them out yourself, only about 30-40 minutes apart.
