I'm going to Costa Rica for 10 days in Dec, 1/2 of which will be spent on the Osa Peninsula. Looking for advice on what to do and in particular where to stay. We're budget travelers, hoping for something around $60/night or less. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks.

I believe that Puerto Jimenez is a good place to base yourselves while in the Osa. I like

Sorry, I'm trying to get use to this new system. I like Cabinas Jimenez in Puerto Jimenez. Another link you may find valuable is Osa Map. Enjoy

Yea PJ is is the hub to main entrances, and the south. With so many days to explore the area, I would head south and hike south to north w/guide staying at Ranger Stations, all arranged via PJ.

The MOON/LP Guidebook is a great source to get the particulars...or read back after doing a serch with the search function on "Corcovado".

Hi,
We stayed at Las Caletas at 55$ a night with 3 meals a day, cosy accommodation, great views and a lovely place with only 10-12 people at a time.

Hostel Bekuo just opened another hostel in Matapalo, $20 a night. You can bring food from Puerto Jimenez. this is a good option if you don't want to travel back and forth to PJ everyday. But if you like a little bit of people around, and restaurants, then staying in PJ is a better option.
