I am considering 3-4 days hiking in Corcovado in the first week of September. Any comments on whether it is likely that Corcovado will accessable at that time of year? If not, any other recommendations for good places in CR to do a 3-4 day hike?
Also, in early September, I am considering a day trip to white water raft on the Pacuare River. Any comments on whether this would be a good time to do this would be greatly appreciated. I am wondering whether, at that time year, the water levels on the river would be too high for operators to be offering trips. Finally, any recommendations on good operators who will pick up in SJ, do the rafting and then drop off in PV? Gotta love the Thorn Tree, a great resource! Thanks in advance.

Sept will be day by day in Corcovado- have a plan B
River rafting depends on daily rains, and what class they are, again the outfits that operate on the river, will advise as to what class the rapids are and the risk involved, normally, they will not take a novice on a class V.
All the outfits are pretty good safety conscious. I like Exploreoutdoors (sp)
I used this outfit, family operated and they grew up on the river, sister guide, brother kayaks along side, great house at end to shower and drink. They have a halfway house for a overnight amongst the Talamancas Indians living on the river, in loinclothes, if that.
Pre Arrange the drop off-
