I read on a (now closed) forum that the bus from San Jose to PJ leaves at 8am and takes 7.5hours. A commenter noted: "I arrived at the Atlantico Norte bus station at 5:30 am for the supposed 6:00 am bus to Puerto Jimenez, only to find the bus station not open and that the bus did not leave until much later. There is a lot of confusing information on the Internet regarding the schedule of this bus, but I believe the 8:00 am departure time is correct one."

However all information I can find online says the 699 leaves at 6am and takes 10 hours? I'm wondering which is true? Also do you still have to get tickets at the station itself? If we were to arrive for the bus on a Tuesday morning in November would we be ok to purchase tickets just before boarding or will we need to visit the station the night before?

We have booked a Trek at Corcovado early the next day, so we won't have any time to accommodate for delays, so I just want to ensure I have the right time and will be able to secure tickets. Apparently there was an expat to arranged all of this for a fee but his website is down so that rules that out.

Any help appreciated as there don't seem to be any recent sources with times etc.

Thanks in advance.
