We are coming to c.r. in August and since this the off-peak season, do we need reservations ? It would be nice to drive up to a place and check it out first before booking. We will be needing 2 rooms for 1 week and 1 room for another week. Also we will probably stay in moderate to nicer type places. We haven"t figured out where we are going yet but probably M.A. ,Quespos then M.V. and Arenal. Thanks folks

August is low season but it is a bit busier, than the other month, as many Europeans have their long summer holidays in August. However, you should NOT need any reservations beforehand. Wherever you want to stay, try and get there early and have a look at the rooms. Staying for a week should also get a better rate. Questions is, whether you really want to stay in one place or rather travel around.........Manuel Antonio, Monteverde, Arenal and back to San Jose sounds good.
