The quickets way from Monteverde to Tamarindo is a shuttle bus, cheapest is bus to amercan highway, bus to Santa Cruz or Liberia and another bus to Tamarindo.

Thanks, if I take the bus is it possible to do the journey in one day, or am I going to have to stay overnight in Liberia ?

Hello Nita, when you take the 6.30 am bus from Monteverde, you should be a bit later than 8.00 am on the american highway. Buses to Liberia run more than every hour. Buses for Tamarindo from Liberia are at 11.10 am, 12.45 pm, 2.15 pm and will take 1.5 hours. For the first bus you may be to late depends on road conditions and waiting time.
