I'm heading to San Pedro in December (12th-23rd approx). I was there ten years ago in May and hunted down accommodation when I arrived. I'd like to do the same again. Is it very busy at this time of year? Can I be confident of finding somewhere to stay. This time around I'm travelling with a seven year old so I can't be too irresponsible.
I'm also wondering about Cancun.
Thanks
Hi,
We want to thank everyone with their suggestions about traveling down from Cancun to Belize!
We think we'll do it -
Another question - especially for those long-term travellers to Belize - how crazy-busy is it during the holidays?
We ask, because one of us can only get off work around that time (we plan to be in Belize from Dec.28/09 to Jan 28/09) . We want to head to Caye Caulker - will find a place to stay be a problem? We are budget travellers (and want our money to last us for the month)…
Hi guys,
we (a 29-30 years old couple from hungary) made a fantastic trip in CA in October. We spend just a few (4-8) days in every countries, but this short time was so great. October is said to be a rainy season, but we did not see any drops of rain in Belize. Maybe we were lucky :-))))
As I got a lot of useful info in this forum, I will go into details, so the report can be long a bit.
We arrived to the international airport, and take a taxi directly to the caye caulker water taxi station…
Hi Everyone,
We can't believe how expensive fares are to Belize!
We were doing some research, on past blogs, and LanSluder suggested flying to Cancun and busing down to Belize. He said it only costs $20US to take the bus ( is this for a chicken bus?) and takes about 5 1/2 hours. How close is this to fact? Has anyone done the trip? We'd appreciate your input, as we're seriously considering it...
On the subject of flights - here's something weird - a flight by way of Houston at $645US has taxes…
Looking for advice on accomdations and itinerary notes for 10 days in December. I'd like to check out Lamanai, the ATM cave (Mayan maiden) and also some diving. Any practical tips would be helpful. Don't need 5 star accomodations, but would like a place with AC, reliable, no bugs. Lamanai lodge appeared to get high marks and looks like a place we'd enjoy. However, we also like to dive and I"m wondering if it'd be too ambitious to squeeze in both jungle activities with diving, leading to…
I am traveling to Belize. I will be doing tours including caving/Tikal/jungle tours. I know what the CDC recommends regarding vaccines. I am wondering which vaccines people actually get?
We have heard of Night Jungle Tours and are interested in maybe taking one while we are in San Ignacio. For those of you who have been on one how was your experience. Can you give Tour Operators in the San Ignacio area who do them? Where do they take you and how long do they last, cost?
Thanks for any info you can provide.
Have any of you taken a bus from Cancun to Belize? And then on to Honduras and/or Guatemala. Don't you have to take a boat from Belize in order to get to the road the takes you to Omoa and on to Puerto Cortez? Perhaps the approximate time and expense frpm Cancun to Belize City. Thanks for your replies.
Hi,
I'm thinking of doing some tours out of San Ignacio in December, and wondered if anyone has any opinion about which is the best company to go with. Which is better, Pacz Tours or Mayawalk Tours?
Thank you
If possible, we’d like to snorkel from the beach (hopefully it can be reached by walk or public transportation from the water taxi station from CC) and experience something we miss in CC (maybe a good cup of coffee, delicious lunch or a nicer selection of Belizean art?).
We have been in SP only 1 hour (during a snorkeling trip from CC last winter). The only experiences we had there were (1) having BBQ lunch (bought from a street vendor) in a nearby park and (2) drinking a cup of Cuban coffee…
