I want to travel to Belize for the last 2 weeks of Nov. snorkling on Caye Caulker, visiting ruins around San Ignacio and a few days around Hopkins. Will I experience frequent rainfall and or cloudy weather or is the rainy season over?

Hi,

Well, it depends on the year really, but this graph on this page should give you an idea of "averages" by city every month.

Most tropical places don't have rain all the time, it just rains more often and harder when it does rain during the rainy season. You'll see the rain come, drench everything and leave even a few times per day. I wouldn't call them 'showers' but they'll dump for a short period and then the sun comes out. On islands, this is even more the case, but when you get near place where the clouds are slowed down by having to go around mountains, it can rain longer and more often.

From my experience in Belize, late September to early December has USUALLY been the rainiest time of the year, but not always. You might not see any rain at all.

The “wet season” doesn’t mean continuous rain every day. Typically during a wet season, it rains for about an hour or two and then clears. This occurs every couple of days or so for about a week, and then maybe no rain for a while, and then another period of rain. And it tends to rain at night too, but not every night.
