Hi Everyone!
I'm a PADI open water diver and photographer looking to get certified in underwater photography.
I'm hoping to do it on a trip to Belize this winter, can someone please recommend a good, inexpensive dive shop in the country to take this course?
OR if you know any good underwater photography teachers anywhere between Mexico and Panama, let me know!
Willing to travel ;)

Check with this outfit on Utila Bay Islands Honduras, they had a few of underwater photographers taking courses with I was getting my Advanced, if they don't offer it, they will know who does.

Just a note that diving is likely to be twice as expensive in Belize as in the Bay Islands of Honduras, as least it was for me, comparing a 10 dive package on Caulker to Roatán on my March and June trips this year. Both shops were outstanding but the price difference was astonishing. I hope you'll post back - sounds like a blast!

I did check the PADI website but wondering if anyone had recommendations from experience, I find that's always better!
I will check out some dive shops in Honduras but is the diving as good as Belize..? Thoughts?

If you're willing to travel, Nicaragua's Corn Islands might also be an option. I do not have experience with the dive shops and quality of scuba, and am hesitant to even make this recommendation, but the off-shore snorkeling was absolutely the best I have ever seen - anywhere! I'll go back, just for this and a quality underwater camera, and with a polarizer lense for everything above.

Diving is great in both Belize and Honduras, obviously better some places within the country than others. If you can find a great dive photo instructor, head there and let us know how it goes.
