I have heard a rumour that there are plans for a new airport (international) to be built in Placencia in 2010. Is there any truth to this?

In construction now with a 9200 ft runway.

I see it's north of the actual penninsula. That's good because to make a runway that accomidates jets would basically take up half of the penisula as it's very narrow.
