I have started to plan a trip to Belize for next summer. My husband and I stayed in a cool lodge run by the Organization for Tropical Studies in Costa Rica a few years ago and had a great time. It was a no-frills place, just somewhere to enjoy the wildlife in the primary and secondary rainforest. I have been looking for a similar place in Belize but have found mostly high-end, pretty expensive eco lodges. I don't want to pay more than $100 a day for the two of us, and I am mostly interested in hiking on trails with a large variety of flora and fauna.

Thanks!

Have you been to the one down in the Osa of Costa Rica south of Pavones buried in the jungle on the Panama border?

Whoa...what a treat that is...

Maybe the Cockscomb basin wildlife sanctuary. But, you probably won't see the kind of wildlife you saw in Costa Rica.
