I'm flying from Bogota to Belize in late August and was wondering about the cheapest flight or best way to get there. I'll be heading for San Ignatio in the jungle on the Guatemalan border. ( I've been to Tikal and Copan before and so, don't necessarily need to see them again but instead would prefer to see either Yaxha or Lamanai. I'd also like to spend some time chilling out at the beach and doing a bit of snorkelling... any ideas?

You may have to make a connection/layover in on of the other capitals, as I dont think there is a direct flights.

TACA, COPA are the regional carriers in CA. Many times it can be cheaper to fly from South America/Colombia to Miami and then back to CA area.

Try Kayak.com.

Right now its shows Taca w/1 stop for $637, which is about the average these days between many CA/SA areas...under $400 is a deal.

COPA doesn't fly to Belize. TACA changing planes in San Salvador can be an option. You can also go changing planes in the USA (e.g. with Continental changing planes in Houston).

That is a vary expensive route for some reason. You can fly from LAX to Colombia for a lot less that you can from Guat or Belize. You might look at Cancun and then overland.
