Hi. How easy would it be to travel from Flores (Guatemala) to Placencia in a day? I know its a pretty long way, but how long would it be likely to take in reality? Do buses leave Flores early enough to make it practical? I'm trying to sort out possible ways to fit in our itinerary now that we have the flight delays from the UK.

Thanks qwovadis. What about Placencia to Caye Caulker in a day - would you say thats more doable? Due to the flight delays we'll have lost quite a lot of money on hotels we had prebooked in New York (insurance won't pay out) so we can't really afford to fly between the two places.
Thanks for your help everybody. We'll be doing Flores to Placencia to CC, but including a couple of nights at Caves Branch in one direction to break it up a bit. Its looking like the Placencia to CC leg will be less painful so we'll probably do Caves Branch on the way between Flores and Placencia. We were originally planning to fly from Placencia to CC but need to cut down on costs a bit now. We're just hoping that at least some of the hotels we have reserved will let us change dates without charging us - we'll probably be delayed by at least a week now. Not particularly keen on volcanoes at the moment!
