Hi there,
how far in advance should i book flights to Belize? We will leave from Fco to Bze the 31 of Jan and return the 23 of Feb.
The cheapest fares that I found is € 670 with Alitalia+Delta but i don't know if it's too early to book, what do you suggest? Howmany months in advance do you recommend we should book flights?
Thank you very much!
I would hold off until about 90 days before. You have to remember that the most important thing is to keep checking on line at least once every day. That's what the travel agents do. Things change within hours and you need to be ready to pull the trigger when a sale or good deal comes along.
I usually go to one or two websites and watch the prices every day for a week or two just to get an idea of prices, then buy when when I see a good fare. I tend to buy a few weeks before before flying, and have noticed that fares are reduced on certain days of the week.
You might also look at fares to Cancun. That route will involve more time to get to & from Belize plus fees when crossing borders, but if the saving is significant, it is an option. Include Mexico as part of the holiday, not an obstacle to endure to get to Belize.
Thank you guys, i will wait more time then.
@Misterbee i've already checked the prices and fly to Cancun is pretty much the same price just 30-40 Euros cheaper but then you have to reach Belize and crosse the border in Chetumal and even if it quite easy i will lose a day on each way.
To be honest I'm looking for a big deal, and i'm checking everyday a website which offer every day great deals as "Flights to Central America for only €332 & up" but the promo ends in December.
I will keep searching thank you.
Well, Flights to Belize have been consistently high for several years now. Keep checking (I use a site called Matrix). I agree with Mr. Bee that while flying into Cancun is generally much cheaper, unless you incorporate Tulum or another stop along the Yucatan, you will end up spending the extra time and money just getting to Belize. That said, there is plenty to do around Tulum for a couple of days. So, if Belize is your main focus and your time is limited, then do the best you can flying into BZE. If not, then consider Cancun or maybe an open jaw flight so you won't have to backtrack.
I love Mexico i've been there twice so this time we're gonna visit Belize; from there we will be heading to Flores-Guatemala by bus in trying to see Tikal, El Mirador by 5 days trek in the jungle and then back to Belize; an open jaw ticket is an option but still more expensive than a simple return ticket to Bze.
@greego
you're right i'm using Matrix flight search too and many others.
@Maxim303
I've tried San Pedro but still expensive.
Another great option could be to fly to BZE then back to Europe from Roatan in Honduras but is quite far away from Belize and we need to get another plane from Bze to Roatan.
Thank you guys!
