Does anyone know of a cheap but safe place to rent a room for a week in June? I am taking my son to Caye Caulker to go snorkeling before we go on to Guatemala.

I don't really know of any "unsafe" places on Caye Caulker so you probably should clarify "cheap." Hotel Miramar may be what you want if you wanta $10 room and the availability of cheap rum nearby. Others consider under $100 cheap. You tell us.

For a week?
I suggest you consider Maxhapan with A/C, TV, fridge, and a nice quiet place to retreat to.

Tours are easy to arrange.
