Hello, if anyone has actually been to both of these places I would love your input...can only do one or the other in my short time frame...Bullet Falls v. San Ignacio to sleep near the river and kayak while still getting the most out of being near the city, & El Pilar v. Xunantunich for one awesome pyramid climb? Thank you!!!

Been to Xunantunich while staying outside San Ignacio in 2008 or 2009, can't recall ;)
Xunantunich is truly awe-inspiring. It's incredible that you can climb up this 10-story pyramid and just sit there, no railings or safety bars, looking out over the fields and rainforest, right into Guatamala etc. We had it to ourselves the day we went, aside from some military dudes on patrol.
San Ignacio I don't remember much about. The food at Hannah's is great, and we bought some tasty nuts at the Saturday municipal market...
