Hey Everyone,

I will be flying into BZE on June 27 around noon and staying for a week.

I've heard that Ambergris is more touristy and Caye Caulker is more laid-back.
On June 30, I have to be in Caye Caulker since I will be going on the Raggamuffin Tour. Thus, I was thinking AC for June 27 and 28 since it has more nightlife and those 2 dates are Friday and Saturday. Then Caye Caulker for June 29 and 30.
I found that it is also LobsterFest during this time. Overall, I want to spend my day at the beach and eating quite a good amount of seafood. At night, I'm more into casual places for some drinks and sociable people.

In addition, I will arrive into Placencia Thursday, July 3. I saw that it has beautiful beaches. On July 5, I will be flying back home to California and am wondering if I should stay in Placencia for both days, then go to BZE to fly out, or should I stay in Placencia for 1 day and Belize City for 1.

Thanks! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If possible, I'd avoid staying in Belize City.

Is it because it is unsafe?
Or not much to see?

Hi Diane,
Let's just say that Belize City can be unpleasant especially at night. This is not to say that it does not have it's charms particularly if you are immune to hustlers and thieves. You really don't have much time and will be ending at the farthest place from the airport so I suggest that you either fly back to BZE from Placencia or leave a day early. Anything can happen on the road and you don't want to miss your flight home. If you want to maximize your fun I would just stay in one place on Caye Caulker, possibly doing a day trip with snorkeling included to San Pedro and then doing the Raggamuffin trip. You will understand all of this much better once you are on the ground.
