I am headed to both ambergris and caye caulker for a few days next week. Can someone give me some good recommends on affordable places to stay - by affordable I mean $50 and under. I am not looking for anything fancy other than maybe AC, in room bathrooms and a clean/safe place.

Lan's the man, and he's got lots of good info in that report. I'll chime in for my low-cost favorite on AC - Ruby's Hotel. We had an awesome beachside room with AC, balcony, good facilities for $60/night. Excellent location, too! Enjoy!
