Has anyone stayed in one of the Sand-X apartments on the road just south of Hillsborough, on the way to the airport, on Carriacou? I learned that the Silver Beach Hotel is closed for renovation, and probably won't open in time for our February arrival. Their cottages are convenient, but . . .

My boyfriend and I are thinking of heading to Culebra for a little bit of R and R in Feb 08. I am interested in just hanging at the beach and snorkeling but he surfs. I can't seem to find much information about surfing in Culebra. anyone have any knowledge of the surfing there?

8 days in Puerto Rico - 2 days Old San Juan, 3 days El Yunque, 3 days Vieques?
ferry (or flight) over to Dominican Republic - say 3-4 weeks to visit NP, hike etc. get Xmas / New Year out the way
flight to Jamaica - 2-3 weeks to explore Blue Mountains, northern & western coasts
flight to Cuba - 6-8 weeks wandering around the island
* flight back to Puerto Rico to get ship back to the UK
