I have traveled to Jamaica several times but have always stuck to the coast. I am interested in staying in the mountains for about 2 weeks. There is not much info on the net about the Jamaican interior. Any ideas, info, comments?

Thanks

The last time I was in Jamaica was the very early 1970's when Negril was just a sleepy little hippy hangout. In fact, Jimmy Cliff had just hit it big time with his movie The Harder They Come. He was filming a follow up movie in Negril and we were asked to be some "hippy type" extras sitting on a wall. The movie never made it into production (although I heard that Perry Henzell the producer found the film 30 years later and that it was remastered, edited and relased in late 2006 just before…

About 8 AM one morning we decided to walk from the Blue Cave Castle to the Negril Light House. I figure it is at least 2 miles. We arrived before 9:00 and the gates were locked. Across the street was a lady selling jewelry and stuff, her Jamaican nickname, Daughter. Everyone in Jamaica has a nickname. She told us that Mr. Johnson, the lighthouse keeper had left to take his son to school and should return shortly. She told us that up the road a few hundred yards was a nice little bakery…

Hi Everyone
We are a family of 5 adults who are looking for a vacation rental (a house/ a villa / a casita / an apt) on Vieques over the Christmas holiday. We have been pouring over the internet and it looks like we could use a recommendation. We would love to stay in a house near the beach, and not directly in the towns of Vieques. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!

Also, where is the best snorkeling on Vieques? There are many places that mention snorkeling, but I am wondering…

I'm thinking of packing it all in and opening a beach bar in the Caribbean. If you could open a beach bar anywhere in the Caribbean where would you do it? I'm looking for somewhere not too busy but not too quiet. And somewhere that'll be a good investment, of course. All ideas welcome.

Thanks x

Hello Everyone
My family is planning on traveling to Culebra for Christmas week 2007. We are loking for a vacation rental suitable for 5 people (or 4 1/2) that is located near the beach, not in Dewey. We have heard great things about the island and we think it looks like the perfect place for us - quiet and somewhat remote, great beaches and beautiful water.
Any reccomendations for places to stay, favotire memories about visits there or just great places to go while we are visiting will be…

The postcards will also immensely help me in better english grammer and the ability to make small sentences in english so that microsoft word will finally…

I have been looking into different lodging options during the carnival, but my first tries offered ridiculous rates - 2-3 times the normal (i.e.$200 for the most basic motel)...Does anybody have any good tips? Budget options...?
