BVI To Lift Visa Requirements For Holders Of U.S., Canada & UK Visas

Persons from foreign countries, including within the Caribbean, who are holders of United States, Canadian and United Kingdom (UK) visas, will no longer need to have a BVI visa to enter the Territory.... it's for anyone who is entering the Territory, whether for work or otherwise.

...the new policy was taken to Cabinet for approval and is to be approved shortly.

Me and my family are staying at the island for 1 month.
Our children are 1 and 4 years old, so we do not need action, but a quiet place with easy acces to grocery shopping and water.
We would like
- to stay in walking distance to the beach.
- walking distance to shopping.
- A pool would be nice.
- 2 room appartment/hotel room.
- direct acces to a patio and grass (so not on 1st floor).
- a small kitchen.

Where on the island should we be located?
Any recommendations for a hotel/guesthouse which could…

I searched TT and saw several people asking about budget accommodation on Tobago. Sadly, none of the threads I saw had received responses...

Certainly some of you have made it down there. Can you attest to what we should expect to spend nightly on accommodation. Apparently there are some 'cheap' guesthouses. Has anybody stayed in them? Any feedback beyond what can be found on Booking.com would be helpful for myself, and clearly many other travelers.

Thanks!

Hi any advice re which island would be most suitable for a three month stay probably Nov to Feb? We're a middle aged couple who have decided once our house in the uk is sold we're going to have sometime to ourselves in the sun. Which island would be best weather wise at that time of the year. Ideally we would like a condo, pool, near beach, town etc. Any recommendations/advice gratefully received. Thanks Helen

Hi,

I am going to haiti next week, second time. Live in DR now.
Wanna go to ile Tortue in the north, near port au paix.
Any info about getting there, staying there, things to see or do?

Specially interested in photography of folks and landscapes, not so much in swimming/snorkling.

thx

Hello,

My wife and I will be on our honeymoon in Samaná, DR in late June this year and have built in a week to try and get over to Cuba. Despite its geographic proximity, all of the flights from Santo Domingo to Havana we have found are incredibly expensive (upwards of $1000 USD r/t) and have layovers in other countries like Panama and Mexico. We are hoping to find a more reasonable means of getting to Cuba, such as booking our flights once we're in the DR or chartering a ferry or sailboat. I'd…

Hello, all. I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I'll try to make this quick.

I live in Spain. I will be in Taiwan for two months this summer and will travel from Taiwan to the DR (Punta Cana) for a wedding in late August. I had to pull all types of miracles to keep the cost of getting from Taiwan to DR below 1k USD..

I plan to return to Spain (Barcelona) from the DR sometime after the wedding. . My problem is that I don't need to be back at work in Spain until late September/ early October.

I'd like…

Hi, I'm new to this so hope I'm posting in the right place! I'm trying to organise a trip for my family ( based in Brighton in UK) to Caribbean this summer that involves us joining a week long volunteer project based in Belize ( on island of Placenia). We hope to combine this with visiting a friend living in Guadeloupe. I have tried- in vain so far- to work out how on earth we travel from Belize to Guadeloupe either by plane or ferry. Can anyone help at all? Maybe it's just not feasible. Any…

I have been a long time reader of the Lonely Planet website and forums and after having a wonderful experience i decided to sign up and post about it. While being on the French / Dutch island of St. Maarten / St. martin we went on a Snorkeling Boat Tour with the Swaliga 2.

Because most experiences we had on boat trips like that were not all that good we started the day being a bit skeptical. But after 30 minutes or so our skeptic look at the day made place for enjoyment and fun. The boat was…
