If you are staying a few days at Georgetown and draw less than 8 foot, go on around to Redshanks anchorage and enjoy the quiet. Only five minutes by dingy to the town docks and good protection from most wind and swell.

I've travelled here before but I want to be a bit more adventurous - coming from Canada - its still cost effective to get an all inclusive which I plan to use as a home base but trying to figure if I should use Juan Dolio- near Santo Domingo - or Puerto Plata as my place to stay and take day and overnight trips from - or other suggestions -

I've been to the Caribbean before, Haiti, Cuba, Dom Rep and Curacao... but this time I want to concentrate more on the eastern islands and work myself down to Surinam and Guyana.

Are there ANY ferries actually running between any of the islands, all the info is sorta sketchy and I dont know if I trust it.

Are there any cheap single rooms on St Croix at all? The easiest place for me to fly in is there or puerto rico.

I found Curacao to be expensive, should I expect the same from most of the…

Hi, we want to go to the USVI in Dec/Jan during Christmas time and found an affordable accommodation at Coral Bay in St. John. Can anybody say if it is difficult to reach the beaches at the north of the island like Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay without a car? I read there are public busses and open taxis that operate from Cruz Bay. But does they also go regularly from Coral Bay?
Thanks in advance.

Plan on heading to Arecibo Observatory then hit the coastline on the way back for caves, hidden beaches etc. We have 4 people (myself and wife, 9 year old daughter and wife's mother) - the private SUV can take 3 more. Let me know if you are interested. Tour guide charges $60 an hour and we are looking at 8 hours to be split equally. Thanks, Fran

Hi Folks!
I just bought tickets to Guadeloupe, March 2016. We are a family of 5 ( kids aged 5,10,12), and have been to Mauritius, Boracay / Philippines, Florida, Greece etc.

When we are travelling, we always try to locate quiet places with local "touch" - not mainstream all-inclusive - and we love it:) Self-catering is often our best choice.

I am not sure where to go after we have our touchdown in Guadaloupe - but I am thinking of either Marie Galante or Les Saintes. Any thoughts?

Best regards…

I'm having trouble deciding on Curacao or Turks & Caicos for Nov.21-28th 2015. I have priced out both and for hotel and flight they are about the same.

Curacao - planning on staying at Lions Dive & Beach Resort
Turks & Caicos - planning on staying at either Coral Garden or Royal West Indies

We are both in our 30's (30, 31) 1 scuba diver 1 snorkeler, both skydivers. We enjoy outdoor activities (horseback riding, touring, wildlife) and watersports but also lounging around. Mostly planning on…

We enjoy a high quality, resort vacation. Alternatively, we enjoy an apartment or condominium if dinner options are nearby. Our main activity is snorkeling.

With a rental car, we can drive to various highly regarded snorkeling spots; and we can also take boat snorkel excursions. However, sometimes we enjoy the independence of just walking from our resort to snorkel for an hour or two.....or more.

Suggestions of quality resorts with good snorkeling in easy reach??

Thanks!
