Hey there,

I know this will be lame considering the other destinations discussed on the site, however my wife and I are planning a trip to the Carribean/Bahamas next summer and I'm looking for all-inclusive suggestions.

We are pretty much open to any destination outside of Mexico and want to make sure we are going to a quality place with good food and a nice beach. I'm having a hard time finding a location as everything seems to have 4-6 stars and none have great reviews for dining options. I'm hoping someone can throw me a suggestion or two as to a location, a resort brand, or even a specific resort.

Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated as my wife has put all the planning on me for this one. So I'm hoping to come through!

Thanks!

one of the so called "lame" parts is "all-inclusive". you don't get to see the people and the culture and the local food and the local vibes. what a shame to go to another country and shield yourself from the place you are going to.

and the next thing is why you wouldn't want to go to mexico. i've been to over 30 caribbean islands and ports in the western, eastern, and southern caribbean and the mexican islands and ports have some of the friendliest, kind, wonderful people i have ever met. and the cuisine is not taco bell. it is wonderful. i got the vibe that when you said quality place with good food that meant something that wasn't local food. if you stay at an all-inclusive you need to leave it and go get some "real" food. at the local establishments that the local people eat at.

why on earth would you rule out mexico? this is not a rhetorical question. i am really curious why you would be so discrimating in this respect. could you please answer?

i hope i'm not pre-judging you but it sounds like you have "let your cat out of your bag". if what i'm reading from this is true, i pity you.

Actually we went to Mexico for our honeymoon. We liked it. Just want to go somewhere else as we don't travel much.

Thanks so much for all of your wonderful suggestions. You really have driven me to visit every Caribbean island in a kayak with nothing but a blunt knife and an empty jar to collect water. I shall also visit lost African tribes, greet the natives and integrate into their society while adopting their many customs. Hey, who knows, maybe I'll see you there doing the same thing!

Seriously though, I so very much appreciate you taking time out of your hectic travel schedule to belittle me and my travel plans by calling on your vast experience and overwhelming intelligence. You sir, are very kind and I am humbled that you of all travelers would respond to my post. I, a mere mortal, tremble in your presence.

Hail jamdownron!!! King Of ALL TRAVELING JACKASSES!
