I am planning to visit Cuba this Christmas. Ideally i'd like to fly to another Caribbean Island for a stopover and then sail to Cuba by Ferry. How feasible is this? And which other islands would suit me best?

It is not feasible. There is no commercial passenger service by sea to or from Cuba. Jamaica, the Caymans, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic have direct flights to Cuba although service is not always daily and not particularly cheap.
