Flying into Montego Bay & due to size of our group thought we would rent a car. Looking for recommendations on companies that are good to rent from as well as interested in things to be aware of with car rental in this country. Basic details like side of road one drives on is of interest (though not concern as we are experienced at both). We fly into Montego Bay on Christmas day & have 4 licensed drivers in our group of 4.
Thanks

Be aware that your credit company does not cover the insurance on a rental car in Jamaica, so you will have to buy the additional insurance offered by the rental company. Be sure to closely check the car for any damage (even the slightest), beacuse the there is a heafty deposit on the rental, and you will lost it for the slightest damage.
Driving is on the left, but I can assure you that you are not use to the wild and crazy driving habits of the Jamaicans. Also, roads are poorly marked and signed, and I do not recommend driving after adrk !
With four people it might be alot more fun to just hire a "private taxi" driver to take you around.
ONE LOVE !!

I took some time and wrote down my thoughts on driving in Jamaica in my blog. I'd just done a couple of weeks mostly solo driving myself, and wrote this while everything was fresh in my mind...you might find it helpful.
