Quality Negril "budget" lodgings? ..... and Green Castle

So I'm helping an employee put together a budget vacation- she and her boyfriend are early 20s, fit and pretty adventurous. Their flights are being covered by a relative. They're afraid they can't afford Jamaica and were getting ready to cop out and go to an AI in the DR. They're not AI people and would love Negril's offerings.

Are there any cheaper options than the $25/per person airport shuttles? They probably won't be prepared to navigate the Jamaican route taxi/ public transport scene when they fly in so I think not.

Most importantly would be affordable lodging in Negril- I've suggested The Negril Yoga Center and the LTU Pub Villas with a nod towards the Blue Cave Castle (as a "splurge" option). Am I missing anything decent in that ($50-85/ night) price range?

.... now for my upcoming trip. Has anyone visited the Green Castle Tropical Research/ Green Castle Center or seen the Green Castle Estate House near Robbins Bay. I know the area but I haven't seen the digs.

Half Moon Beach check there website. it is a lil pass green island and a hidden jewel
they have cabins , private taxi to negril for 5 U.S and private beach to chill. the price is in the 40-80 dollar range .. I have sweet villas uptop from mobay in the same price range . but to do negril and still be able to relax I love half moon

Thanks Barry- having visited HMB I was certainly going to recommend a day trip and lunch there.

I checked out the cabins and noted them for future trips but never had any contact info, which I will save.

A good cheap place (Under $50US) for Negril is Jah B's Cottages.
Right across the street from the beach.
Also, the Negril Yoga Center is good and inexpensive.
Also Roots Bamboo, it right on the beach.
Check this website for more places and info on Negril.

Public transport (route taxi and mini bus) is the only other option for transport to Negril that is cheaper then the JUTA $25US/person rate.

Blue Cave isn't a splurge really, in low season their tower rooms are like $50....
