My husband and I are wondering if we should visit Puerto Rico or Jamaica while we have a 4-day vacation coming up in April.

We are looking for a place that has a lot of fun, adventurous, out-doorsy activities...we're definitely the hiking, bungee jumping, white-water rafting, etc type. We're not looking to stay at a resort or do anything super touristy. We want to travel around w/ ease (not going to rent a car or anything) and see as much as we can. We like doing things that are off the beaten path, but definitely still do the "must-do" activities and the "must-see" places.

Any advice? Thanks!

You can hike, zip-line, dive, parasail, cliff dive, and go caving in Jamaica.
That is about it as for adventure activities.
Bamboo rafting, hiking water falls, jet ski, is more fun then adventurous.
There are many non-resort places to stay at.
You can also hire a "private taxi driver" to take you around, especially if you want to get off the beaten path.
I have not been to Puerto Rico, so I cannot comment about there.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike

Just back from Jamaica - our family like you wants the adventure. We like diving/snorkelling & Jamaica flights were on sale. Water was rough & cold, though the guys saw lion fish at James Bond beach. the ziplines were 6xs what we paid in Honduras, new bobsled run as well - also heaps of money. These activities are 4+ hours from cliff diving which we didn't partake in. Due to renting a townhouse we went either east or west for max 2 hours 1 way. Cave exploration was bland, but we've seen some fabulous caves. We saw green grotto caves - excellent guide, but pretty much what we could come up with as indoor activity on day 4 of rainy weather.
Have friends who love Puerto Rico, but haven't been so can't give suggestions.
