Hi there,

I am planning a family vacation and we are having a hard time deciding between Ochos Rios and Negril. We are getting a lot of different advice regarding where is the best place to go in Jamaica.

In Ochos Rios, we're looking at the Riu Ochos Rios and in Negril, the Riu Tropical Palace. We're kind of split between the two.

The people traveling range between 16 and 50 and we're trying to find the best place to accomodate everyone. Basically, we want luxury, nice beach, good food, night life, good activites and good diving spots (ok well that's just me lol).

Any insight you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Also, Ochos Rios is the cruiseship capital of Jamaica.
But now that they have destroyed the coast in Falmouth to big a pier for the largest cruiseship in the world, then maybe Ochy is second now !
Again, go to NEGRIL, it has all that you are looking for.

Im also voting for Negril over Ochi, Mobay, and especially Kingston!

...though the Riu Ocho Rios is not really in Ochi, it's on Mammee Bay which was a pretty nice beach - before the Riu was built,. Not sure what it's like now.
