If you wan to stay at Ivanhoes and get to Boston Bay at night, the staff at Ivanhoe's can arrange a driver to take you.

I'm usually at Ivanhoe Feb. through April. I walk down to the Texaco taxi station, get a shared taxi to Boston, walk in to Great Huts and either walk out and wait for a taxi or call one from GH. Get your driver's phone # and have GH call him when you're ready to leave. (Shared taxis on the road are cheaper than calling for a private taxi; but privately chartered taxis are safer and more reliable late at night.)

Have no idea of what Anna Banana is doing at the moment. Do call GH to make sure they are currently having entertainment on the night you plan to go. Calls from Ivanhoe are about $50 - 100 JAD, paid to Mrs. Burke for use of the phone.

I don't know if I'd call the show I saw at GH a few years ago "not to be missed"

I did learn quite a bit about the roots of Jamaican dance and in doing so learned about Jamaican culture. Overall it was a fairly simple affair led by a schoolteacher type and demonstrated by students of high school age.

As I recall the Tower room you mention was right at the entrance- looked okay. Overall, we liked GH but wouldn't stay there again- it's a little pricey for what we got and the breakfast was average. I would have loved it when I was 25, but well into my 30's I could have taken it or left it (we stayed in Bamboo)

I have to agree with #5 concerning the GH show. It's fun; it traces the various dance styles of JA from slavery through dancehall and the young people are very good. ( The MC is actually a teacher at their school which is in Manchioneal, in Portland parish.) But to call it "not to be missed" may be a bit excessive.
That said, it's a free show, even if you aren't staying at GH. (It's expected that you'll have something to drink.) And I feel that supporting the students involved is a good gesture. But make no mistake, it's a small, local entertainment, not a high-powered floor show.

Right. Just call GH to make sure the show is happening before you head out.
