Hi everyone,

I January I will be travelling in Cuba, and would like to also visit Jamaica if possible. I know there are recommendations to avoid Kingston if possible due to some unrest, therefore am trying to fly direct to Montego Bay.

From the searching I have done, including the forums and Lonely Planet website, it should be possible for me to fly from Havana to Montego Bay. However when I go to the airline websites this route is not offered.

Can anyone advise if it is possible to fly from Havana to Montego Bay, and if so, with which airline.

Thanks
Aaron

Not sure about the flight but what unrest are you referring to in Kng.? You can fly into Kng. with no problem and stay overnight, if necessary in either Kng. or out in Port Royal.

Try calling Cubana Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, are Copa Airlines.
I know Cubana had a direct flight from Havana to MoBay, but I am not sure that it still exists.

I flew there on Air Jamaica. I booked it with the airline.

Thanks for the responses.

Cobb, how recent was your flight? I've checked the Air Jamaica website and they don't seem to offer the Havana - Montego Bay route.

No big deal though... will check at the airport when I arrive on the weekend. If it can be done, great. If not, oh well.

I just spoke with Air Jamaica and Cubana via telephone. Both airlines said they no longer offer any flights between Cuba and Jamaica (Montego Bay or Kingston) in either direction. The only real option is via Panama City on Copa, which is obviously a big detour and the increase in mileage means a higher price.

The only choices may be http://www.copaair.com 2-3 times per week via Panama City PTY or http://www.caymanairways.com/ via Grand Cayman GCM.
