Gift for homestay family

I'll be staying with a family for 5 weeks in the summer in a small Quebec town, I'm wondering what should I bring as a gift to the family? It should be small as I'll be traveling by train. I'm from Ontario.

When I stayed with a family in Montreal, I brought them a plate made by a local potter. Anything sort of local like that would be a good idea.

Ice Wine? Some local cheese or other local delicacies from where you are from.
