Bumping threads back to the top?

The above statement from the Branch FAQ does not apply to the Lonely Planet forums. Most forum boards are setup so that new replies will bump the thread back to the top but this is not the case for the Lonely Planet forums.

IMO new replies should bump threads back to the top and editing should be allowed to fix grammar and spelling mistakes, some boards will allow editing during the first 30 minutes or so.

You can set in your preferences to show most recent replied to post at the top. This only works when you are logged in.

Thank you very much, I will set the preferences now.

I think after you register, it should be set as default to bump to the top. Not sure why it isn't.

Once you have set your preferences it will always bump those most recently replied to, to the top. In addition to that if, after you have logged in, you look at the to-day page, you will have a list of all the more recent threads that you have either posted or responded to in "bumped" sequence. In addition you can subscribe to any thread, whether you have posted it or responded to it or not. LP have really made it simple for us to find and keep tabs on the threads that are of interest to us.

I like the lack of an edit function.

Yes, the potential for abuse is far too exciting.
