I'm in the market for a laptop and was wondering on the best place to buy one. I know that there's craigslist, but I dropped into office depo I think its called and they had ok one's for $699, and if there's not much price difference I'd rather have the security of a warrenty. Any other store recommendations?

I just arrived in Vancouver and am looking for a good (and reasonably cheaply priced) optometrist to get an eye test from. I just came from Bangkok where I was tested and although it was crazy cheap I really wasn't confident in the whole procedure. I live downtown as well.

I'm trying to get an idea for how feasible a time frame I have... My partner and I are planning a month long trip across canada, travelling by greyhound. Luckily we are people who can sleep on buses, so we've factoring in plenty of overnight bus trips. The plan so far is

Hi my wife and I will be in Vancouver for a week. We were hoping to go to the Rockies but it may be just too far given our limited time. So as an alternative we thought we could go to Vancouver Island and or Whistler. But may be there are other sights we should consider. My brother and his other half are on a round the world trip at the moment, and I am planning on meeting up with them in Canada.
We're looking at spending a week or so canoeing around Algonquin, and are planning a 7-day circular route, starting from Algonquin Outfitters on the South Arm of Lake Opeongo.

But at the moment have no way of getting from Toronto to the Park. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can get there mid-week?

My partner and I want to travel to the Rockies from Vancouver from the 28th May to . We only have about 4 days to do the Rockies (one week in all). We were intending to do one of the tours but they all appear to leave on a Friday and we only arrive on a Monday. We are quite happy to do it on our own but feel that it may be too difficult given the time constraints. Also what about fairly cheap accommodation as we have very limited budget. Any suggestions or help will be so appreciated.

Unfortunately we are few years just over for the american back packer’s hostel which will be ideal if we were the right age. Is there anything else that is similar for our age group which is late 30s.

How many steps is it from Lower Town to Upper Town in Quebec City on the Breakneck Stairs ? Besides the obvious taxi,Is there another walking alternative on that route besides the steps (less physical) if the funicular is closed ? Thanks always. PEACE

Hello everyone out there!

Is there any way to get a WHV for Canada without going through BUNAC. Have searched pretty far and wide on the intaweb but all trails seem to lead back to BUNAC. Going through these people is a little bit of a 'package deal' of sorts, with them giving you support and advice and setting up somewhere to stay for the first few nights on arrival etc. Would really prefer to just sort out my own WHV, flights, work and everything else.
