Hi, we will be coming into Ottawa on Highway 416 from the south mid-morning and staying one night. We'll then be crossing over into Quebec and heading for Quebec City on Highway 148. We'll be having a few hours in Ottawa to do a red bus tour or similar. Should we find accommodation on the south side on the way in or the north side on the way out, bearing in mind that we'll have a hire car with us but wish to use public transport in and around downtown. We are from Australia so are wanting to…

Hi all!

My parents and a group of their friends are going to Cananda in July.

They are going to visit Banff and Jasper National Parks, but they're are not quite sure how to make most of it.

They are looking for some good local guides to show them around and tell them about the area, go for some (light?) hiking. Naturally thay would like to see bears and other wildlife besides beautiful landscapes.

Do any of you have some good suggestions? Do you no any good tour operators? Best would be local guides…

I am taking three weeks off in July/August to do the circuit from Van Island up to Prince George, then west to Rupert and down to Port Hardy. I am mostly interested in exploring the area between PG and Rupert. We will be camping out of the back of the truck, fishing, etc.
Any ideas that are worth checking out? The truck is 4x4 and I certainly don't mind going off the main roads.
Cheers.

What are the Royal Prerogatives of the Queen in Canada? Does she have the ability to do anything or not? I know it is different in each Commonwealth.

I just found out that we can see the original registration date of pre-2002 thorn tree members. However, this doesn't apply to members who joined before the introduction of registration (circa 2000).

Anyway, what's the "joined date" in your profile?

Living adjacent to a heavily-wooded area, in Southern interior B.C., bears are not news. Nonetheless, on our evening walk, we had one of those "tense" encounters when our young dog "discovered" a large black bear. Everything turned out well. In fact, everyone behaved just as I would have expected. The dog didn't respond, when called. My wife ran away. The bear ran after the dog, but stopped when I yelled at it. I'm a super-hero. A fat one. Time for a beer, I'd say...

I know it's kinda odd but does anyone have one I can borrow? I'm not sure if that's like allowed...I promise I won't steal. Or if you know where I can get a CHEAP used one??The Canadia dollar really sucks and this canuck would like to spend her hard earned dollars on visiting places not an expensive…
