This morning in Saskatoon we are having steady rain and it is a mild and humid 17C. Just to the south by a few hundred kilometres lies a hot, humid air mass and cool (Already in the low 20sC in Regina and Winnipeg with dewpoints at 18C this morning), arctic air mass to the north and west (12C in Edmonton).

A large low pressure system has set up with an associated cold front over riding the maritime tropical air mass, hence the warm rain. I expect there will be some wicked weather in SE Sask…

I am fascinated by the amount of people who swore they'd NEVER join a social networking site, have caved.

I have been on it for a while and its the only SN site that keeps my interest. Anyone else here addicted?

My boyfriend and I are planning a road trip through the Maritimes this summer. We realize we have very little time and a whole lot of places we want to see, so I was hoping for some input on the "must do"s of the Maritimes. I grew up in Toronto and it's always been my dream to see Prince Edward Island, so unless I'm told I'm absolutely crazy- it's top of my list!
We'll be leaving New York around Sunday the 12th of August and heading to the Maritimes. We hope to stop in Vermont and Massachusetts…

Hi all, I'll be driving into Toronto for about a week and a half at the end of November. (I'll be there with my wife and we will have a car.) Although I am a frequent traveler, this is literally her first time out of the US. We plan to do a driving tour to explore the Toronto and Niagara areas, but can't seem to decide if we should also drive out to Ottawa or even as far as Montreal. Just with the things that we've decided we want to see in NiagaraToronto, we'll probably be done in the area…

Hi all,

I have a query, I'm looking to work in Canada next year. I am an Australian working and living in Dublin, how would I go about applying for a visa from Ireland? I've had a look around the web and it says to contact the Canadian embassy in Ireland, but it then specifies Irish getting visas for Canadian.

Can anyone head me in the right direction?
Do I have to apply via Australia?

Cheers

We are planning a road trip in August with a few days in Quebec City, and ideally, we would like to stay in the Old Town. However, I'm concerned about where we will park the car while we're there. Any recommendations for safe, affordable (if at all possible) parking lots? Or mid-range ($100-$150/night) hotels with parking? Any advice on the Quebec city parking situation would be greatly appreciated!

We're non-drivers who are soon off to New Minas village to visit an elderly relative. We have never been to this village and want to know if there are nearby park/picnic areas we might be able to take the relative to. Also, we want to know if its at all possible to visit the ocean easily by taxi from there: New Minas is half-way tween Wolfville and Kentville. Ideally, the ocean locale would have facilities. We have tried to contact the New Minas website but have yet to receive a reply.

I am done. The end.

Hi, I'm planning to do a 7-day visit to Montreal sometime during July or August, though as a first time independent traveller, I'm in need of some help. I've decided on staying at a hostel when I depart from Toronto where I live (still hoofing it on a student budget), and I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations and information on a particular one. I tend to arrive by coach bus, and some public transit info to said location would be great as well. Thanks a lot - Rob

Hey,
2 questions:

Do you think property in Whistler is a good investment? Was thinking of buying a house with a friend and renting it. (maybe to holiday makers or creating shared accommodation and renting it on a monthly basis) Obviously prices are already sky high, but one would think they'll just keep going up, with the olympics and all. We're just starting to do some research, but not sure what people think?

And is there a sort of community website (or even a local paper) for Whistler where…
