Hi all, we're in Vancouver for two nights in August - I've found a few of places to stay within budget (about £100/night), one is near St George Street, one in the West End, the other near Pacific Central Station. We'll be sightseeing in the day, and want nice beer and food in the evening. Is any one of these more suitable than the others? Thanks in advance!

A large part of Vancouver's sightseeing, as well as the highest concentration of bars and restaurants, are in the downtown peninsula, which includes the West End. I think that's your best bet. Your other two locations are near centres of Vancouver's hipster culture, i.e. Main + Broadway and Main + King Edward but St. George is a bit too south and the area right around Pacific Station can be sketchy. You can always spend an evening strolling Main if you want to see the area but the West End will be nicer and more central.

In between Main and Fraser, from E. 34 to E. 37.
