Hi,
I have a delema.. I have a ticket for canada booked for August but im thinking of changing it to september or october. My dilema is when is the best time to go jobs wise?? I went to sweden for a while and some months were better than others to find a job. When does winter actually start?
Thanks in Advance.

What kind of job are you looking for? What part of Canada will you be going? What sort of visa do you hold? What are your skills and work experiences?

Good questions: if you want to go tree-planting for the summer, best not to arrive in December. And Canada is so huge, some parts are depressed while others booming.
Any month is good for finding a job in Canada depending on what you want to do. Based solely on the fact that you are Australian, I'll assume that by "job" in Canada you are refering to a ski resort job (since that's about as far as most Australians go). If that's the case then October probably is the best time, since resorts start hiring for the winter at that time. If you want to think outside of ski resorts, than June is perfect for finding a job for the summer in just about any town where tourists go. You could have a lovely summer working in the tourist industry (hotels, restaurants, bars etc..) on the East Coast, or up North, or wherever. If you want to make money, then Alberta tends to have heaps of jobs going on, and you could probably walk into a job any time of the year.

A great place to look might be the Sunshine Coast of B.C. Summer is a good time to look here and it's way gorgeous (I'm prejudiced because I live here). We are very short of skilled and unskilled labour because the area is booming. If you are into the party scene or concerts and the like Vancouver is a 40 minute ferry ride away. Oh, yes -- the cost of living on the Sunhine Coast is lower than in the City. Whislter and other shi areas, the COL is otrageous.
