Hi there!

I'm planning a road trip starting from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. My route will be something as follows over 10 days: Vancouver-Squamish-Whistler-Pemberton-Lillooet-Kamloops-Salmon Arm-Revelstoke-Golden-Lake Louise-Banff-Calgary-Turner Valley-Crowsnest Pass-Cranbrook-Creston-Nelson-Grand Forks-Osoyoos-Princeton-Hope-Chilliwack-Vancouver

My date to set off will be the 18th August and I haven't yet planned where I will stop on route as I will wing it: pas through if there's not much to see or stop if I like it. Looking for companions for parts of the journey to help with petrol money and any other shared expenses. I plan to camp and will have a stove to cook most of my food. I'll be driving a pickup truck so will keep all my stuff in the back and probably sleep in there sometimes too. I'm relaxed and easy-going and highly low-maintenance, I'll sneak into campsite showers where I can or Couchsurf etc on route. So please no princes/princesses :)

i'm not interested but wanted to comment that "winging it" is somewhat risky in some areas. i would hate for you to miss out on staying in banff / lake louise area but booked accommodations is at an all time high this summer. you are likely to find yourself with no-where to stay or paying a premium price for rooms that are available. we spent a night in revelstoke last week and noticed many motel/hotels with "no vacancy" on their signs by late afternoon. have fun.
