Hi all,
Days away from visiting Canada and will be arriving in Montreal from London. The flight get in at 9pm.

Any hints about weather or not I'll be able to pick up (at that hour at the airport) a Sim card (iphone 5 - Australian) for my phone that I can use in Canada and the US? Can you get a sim card for both data and calls?

Any information generally on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

greetings gildy
sorry i dont know about the airport in montreal, but i know know a bit about sim cards in canada and usa
can we assume that your phone is unlocked? if it is not then it needs to be
sorry as the best i can recall was a sim card in toronto for fido was $45 cdn, maybe???
you can find a plan from providers that will cover various cities in canada if you are planning to travel around the country a bit
and the last time i was in canada, one card worked for both calling and data plans,
it will be more cost efficient most likely to have a different card for the usa as the roaming charges will kill you from the carriers in canada
may i suggest that you google phone carrieres for the cities you plan to travel to and see if you can find what suits you best before you arrive
possible that you could purchase a sim card online? have it sent to you? worth checking out, dont it?
one love

Highly unlikely you'll find anything open at that time of night anywhere. You'll have to wait until the next day.
Across Canada http://www.rogers.com/consumer/wireless#plans and BELL MOBILITY have coverage almost anywhere.
A less expensive option is Seven-Eleven Speakout Airtime is as little as $25.00 and is good for 365 days or money used up. Data is $10.00 for 30 days for 100Mb. A SIM card is $ 15.00. Seven-Eleven works on the Rogers network.
Data is an extra cost on top of most talk plans. Or you chose a more expensive Talk/Data plan.
As mentioned before, the USA would require a new and seperate SIM.

A little late, but good for folks googling this topic. The Seven-Eleven Speakout only has full & micro-Sims, not Nano-sims. As such, Speakout is not applicable for phones like the iPhone 5.
