Hello,

I am looking for suggestions for restaurants in Old Montreal. Everything that I've found online is outrageously expensive, so any suggestions with mid-range or lower prices would be fantastic. I would like to go somewhere somewhat nice, but not have to fork out a crazy amount of money for it.

Thanks!!

So move up the hill to the Plateau and Mile End areas, where plenty of bistros pay lower rents and some even allow you to bring your own bottle of wine. Here is a site I use to search for restaurants by area: http://www.restomontreal.ca/?lang=en

It would help to know what you mean by mid-range or lower prices in Canadian dollar figures (mains < $20? <$15?) But, indeed, Old Montreal is not known for economical dining. The best place to ask questions about restaurants is Chowhound.
